On Thursday will open its doors the newest part of Helsinki's downtown commercial and residential centre in Kamppi. In June 2005 already opened the shops and restaurants on the market square level as well as the terminals for Espoo buses and long-distance coaches. This four-year construction project in downtown Helsinki involving the extensive redevelopment of the Kamppi district was completed roughly six months ahead of the original schedule. 35,000 square metres of floor space to over 150 businesses are providing the Kamppi commercial centre. And the number of restaurants is more than 20. In addition, the complex houses a bowling restaurant, a nightclub, an Internet cafe, and also outdoor terraces facing the Tennispalatsi Square, when weather permits.
