Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra at home and abroad this autumn (2006-09-07)

Now the 124th season of the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra has begun. It will be 25 concerts at Finlandia Hall in Helsinki and seven on tour in Spain and Sweden. On September 7, 2006 Leif Segerstam - Chief Conductor begins the HPO’s own concert series, with internationally renowned Finnish baritone Juha Uusitalo as the soloist. And also to playing its symphony concerts the HPO will be putting on its own productions for its 4,700 godchildren. On October 19, at Finlandia Hall in Helsinki there will be a request concert for the whole family, and the annual autumn chamber music cavalcade will be taking over the Ateneum for the fourteenth time on October 21, this year within a modern art frame. At the Helsinki University Museum Arppeanum on Snellmaninkatu on December 2, 2006 the Orchestra will celebrate the 150th birthday of its founder, Robert Kajanus. For all the autumn concerts single tickets 17.50e will be on sale from September 4 at Lippupiste outlets.
