On September 23 – 24, 2006 will be held the 21st Helsinki Comics Festival. Since 1979 the Finnish Comics Society has organized several comics-related public events. This festival consists of a comic fair, panel discussions, lectures, workshops, seminars and meetings with fellow comic artists. And also comix exhibitions of works by foreign and Finnish artists are included. This year the guests of honour include Anke Feuchtenberger (the author if Die Hure H), Manu Larcenet (the author of Le combat ordinaire), Warren Ellis (the author of Transmetropolitan) as well as Juan Diaz Canales and Juanjo Guarnido (the authors of Blacksad). In Helsinki at the Gloria theatre - Pieni Roobertinkatu, 12 will be the main venue of the festival.
